Meet the Team

President & Founder
Taewoo Park
Hello. My name is Taewoo Park and I am the founder of Hiking Heroes Jeju chapter. I am currently attending SJA Jeju as a freshman. I have been a part of Hikingheroes since 2021. I started Hikingheroes in Virginia and I was one of the founding members of Hiking Heroes South Korea chapter. I had an ambition of creating a Hikingheroes chapter by myself since when I joined Hiokingheroes. I was always interested in environmental issues and actively participated in activities related to climate issues. We are aiming to achieve the goal of solving the climate change crisis. For me, Hikingheroes was my turning point. It made me fall into the environment and work on environmental issues. I wrote several essays about the environment and I participated in the climate change debate and got the honor to get some awards. It is my honor to serve you all as your president. I wish you the best of luck for the good of this chapter.

Vice President & Co-Founder
Minji Kim
Hi, my name is Minji Kim. I'm currently a sophomore at St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju.
I enjoy jogging in nature. Spending time in nature enabled me to shift negative self-talk to something more encouraging and positive. For that reason, I believe that preserving the environment in our community is my ultimate mission. When I see someone throwing trash on the ground, I feel heartbroken. Then, I pick up that trash and trash in the bin. Therefore, I do not think that an individual can make the environment sustainable without the continuous help of others who are aware of the environmental crisis. Through hiking heroes, I want to make our community's environment sustainable. I want to ensure that our community is aware of the environment and why it should be preserved.

SuBin Cha
Hi, I’m SuBin Cha, a 10th-grade student at St. Johnsbury Academy. I’ll be honest, I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be part of an environmental initiative. But when I heard about Hiking Heroes, I saw it as a chance to take a break from the usual routine and experience something outside of myself. I’ve come to realize how easily we overlook what’s around us, and this project has helped me slow down and notice things. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m here to listen, learn, and take steps that might make a difference, even in small ways. I see this as an opportunity to grow alongside a group of people who are trying to do something good.
